Glad I didn't pay for it. But at least the chick is hot.

We (me, Rob, John, Terry, Jeremy, and a few others) are gonna be getting into a regular gameday thing at Terry's place every Sunday. Card games and whatnot. It's been a while since I've done something like that. Looking forward to it. Last Sunday was fun. We played the WoW card game and six of us beat Terry's ass (who was playing the Onyxia Raid Deck).

I'm level 40 (almost 41) on my rogue now in the real game. Got my hoss. Yes, I said hoss.

Today I watched Done The Impossible, a DVD I ordered from eBay about Firefly and Serenity and the whole story of how it went from canceled show to major motion picture. It's a really good documentary, at least if you're a browncoat like me.

I also watched Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, which was fucking hilarious to start, got dull in the middle, and then was fucking hilarious again at the end. Overall a good movie.

Anyway. I'm gonna finish up some stuff and then try out the Command and Conquer 3 demo. Should be fun.

When I heard they were making a Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, I said "oh, that would be interesting" and left it at that. When I heard they were making a new Transformers movie, I didn't really do anything other than peek at the trailer, which underwhelmed me. And I really couldn't care less if they ever get around to making a Halo movie, no matter how cool it would be.

What I'm getting at here is that there are very few things a movie can have that get me interested enough to follow said film's progress long before it even hits the theaters.

One of those precious few things, however, is Jewel Staite, the lucky placeholder of the #1 spot on my "things I would very much like to lick...alot" list. Mint ice cream is #4, to give you an idea of how the list goes.

The Tribe: http://imdb.com/title/tt0811124/
(Note to Kristy: NOT based on that weird European show you kept trying to get me to watch. Though that did look kinda neat.)

I don't even care what the hell it's about. I'll be there.

(P.S.- While we're talking about the very sexy Miss Staite, none of you would happen to have $500 you're not particularly in need of, would you? There are things I would very much like for Christmas.)

EDIT: I found a trailer. I couldn't decide on a good secondary for Dervish (a scythe-wielding class that basically eats enchantments as ammo for their attacks...don't ask) but I liked the skill setup by itself so I took Ranger so I could have a pet (he's a warthog, his name is Puumba). I might change later on, maybe to Monk.

Dear god they've added a lot. Heroes....you can customize and equip and control them in every aspect, it's awesome. Then the new salvage system, dye previews, insignias, inscriptions, all sorts of stuff. I'm enjoying being "new" again for now. I joined up with We Love Pancakes, a guild run by a friend at CAD Media. Our cape has a warthog on it as well, his name is Cupcakes, and he's the guild mascot.

Anyway, work early tomorrow. The space bar on my keyboard is acting up. This bothers me. <lj:music>No music</lj:music>

Whew. No updates in a while....lessee.

Yes, that's me playing FF7 on my PSP. Slow as hell and not really playable enjoyably, but hey, we're getting somewhere. Anonymous_Coder is my new personal Jesus Christ. Go team, and all that.

The Wii is badass. The DBZ game is actually hardcore awesome, even though I hate DBZ. Zelda is cool, too. Can't wait for Wario Ware and Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros. and maybe even Cooking Mama.

I beat FFXII (my review is up at CADM), still playing FF3 DS, and the Knights of the Nine content for Oblivion is cool, but I beat it all in one night which sucks. And that's about it for gaming.

Job's been a bit crazy lately, but that's a given for the holiday season. I left my key at home today like a noob and had to come all the way back to get it. Barely made it back in time to open the store.

I need to do some Christmas shopping. Anyway, just chiming in. I'm out.

EDIT: Stolen from Ali-

you chose BX - your Enneagram type is NINE.

"I am at peace"

Peacemakers are receptive, good-natured, and supportive. They seek union
with others and the world around them.

How to Get Along with Me

If you want me to do something, how you ask is important. I especially
don't like expectations or pressure.

I like to listen and to be of service, but don't take advantage of this.

Listen until I finish speaking, even though I meander a bit.

Give me time to finish things and make decisions. It's OK to nudge
me gently and nonjudgmentally.

Ask me questions to help me get clear.

Tell me when you like how I look. I'm not averse to flattery.

Hug me, show physical affection. It opens me up to my feelings.

I like a good discussion but not a confrontation.

Let me know you like what I've done or said.

Laugh with me and share in my enjoyment of life.

What I Like About Being a Nine

being nonjudgmental and accepting

caring for and being concerned about others

being able to relax and have a good time

knowing that most people enjoy my company; I'm easy to be around

my ability to see many different sides of an issue and to be a good
mediator and facilitator

my heightened awareness of sensations, aesthetics, and the here and
now

being able to go with the flow and feel one with the universe

What's Hard About Being a Nine

being judged and misunderstood for being placid and/or indecisive

being critical of myself for lacking initiative and discipline

being too sensitive to criticism; taking every raised eyebrow and twitch
of the mouth personally

being confused about what I really want

caring too much about what others will think of me

not being listened to or taken seriously

Nines as Children Often

feel ignored and that their wants, opinions, and feelings are unimportant

tune out a lot, especially when others argue

are "good" children: deny anger or keep it to themselves

Nines as Parents

are supportive, kind, and warm

are sometimes overly permissive or nondirective

Renee Baron & Elizabeth Wagele

The Enneagram Made Easy

Discover the 9 Types of People

Harper
SanFrancisco, 1994, 161 pages

You liked the test?
Take a long piece of string or cord of some kind. Weight it at both ends with something small and shiny (I use a lanyard cord with two metal clips). Give one end to one cat and the other end to another cat. Each cat will pull on their end which will shake the other end and renew the interest of the cat at that end. Process repeats indefinitely. Watch and be amused.

In other news, I pick up my Wii (and Zelda) tonight. Yay. Er, I mean "Wiiii!"

(Oh, and Guitar Hero 2 and Gears of War are pretty cool, too.)
That is all.

    <lj:music>John Mayer - Stop This Train</lj:music>

So I'm finally going back and catching up on Sore Thumbs, a comic I haven't read in forever. And I came across what is probably the funniest reference to a comic's own archives in a very long time, so I dug up the relevent strip from the archive to share it with those of you not familiar with the characters of ST.

http://www.sorethumbsonline.com/d/20040412.html
That's from a long time ago. Now read these:

http://www.sorethumbsonline.com/d/20050824.html
http://www.sorethumbsonline.com/d/20050826.html
http://www.sorethumbsonline.com/d/20050926.html
http://www.sorethumbsonline.com/d/20050928.html
http://www.sorethumbsonline.com/d/20050930.html

Genius.

Quick update, haven't been around the interwebs alot lately. Been working alot, playing Lego Star Wars 2 and getting ready for the big winter games rush, both in terms of work and personal shopping plans.

Also, the new John Mayer cd is really good.

EDIT: Since you're all familiar with Sawyer's problem, now, I felt like throwing this one in because it made me LOL.
http://www.sorethumbsonline.com/d/20051118.html

Stolen from mct421 - Pick five songs which begin with a letter you've been assigned and write about them.

I'm not sure how one gets 'assigned' a letter, so I just picked one at random by hitting 'next' on my shuffle playlist and going with the first letter of the song that came up.

Cobra Starship/Gym Class Heroes/The Academy Is.../The Sounds - Snakes on a Plane Soundtrack - Bring It
Ahahahaha. That's IT! I've HAD it with these motherfuckin' snakes on this motherfuckin' plane! Even if you never see the movie (you should, though, it's freaking awesome), you can't deny that as being one of the best lines ever. Opening up a decent rock track with sing-along-able goodness, this track is officially my favorite movie soundtrack piece ever.

Anna Nalick - Breathe (2 AM)
This song is pretty catchy, if a bit sad, and although the lyrics are clearly written from a woman's perspective, they're quite adaptable to anyone's point of view. It's just one of those life-soundtrack songs, decent background music to trudging your way through another not-so-awesome day, but still hanging in there.

Coheed And Cambria - Blood Red Summer
If you ever get the chance to see the video for this song (Hint: it's on the demo disc that was packaged with the US launch PSP's), take it. It's pretty cool. Zombie attacks for the win. The song's not bad, either. I'm a big C&C fan, but even I can admit their lyrics are almost too cryptic and fucked up sometimes. Actually, the problem most people have with them is the vocalist. I like the vocals, though. They have a good 80's sound with them, which clashes distinctly with the modern prog rock sound. It grows on you. It did on me, anyway.

Hotei Tomoyasu - Kill Bill Soundtrack - Battle Without Honor or Humanity
To clarify for those who don't know the name of the song, this is the song from Kill Bill that plays in all the trailers. You've all heard it. It's been used in a billion parodies. And who doesn't love the song? It's just a badass tune. One of the most well-placed pieces of scene music ever in an action movie, if you ask me. Hotei Tomoyasu is like, the Elvis of Japan. He's huge over there.

Sota Fujimori - Gradius Arcade Soundtrack - Burning Heat
The most DDR-able song ever. Period.
